This page contains some resources which you may find useful: Document templates, Software, and Useful URL's.  In the case of software, please email me if you are interested in an evaluation copy of the software (download the user manuals to see their function).

Document Templates

Business Case Pro-Forma This is a document that I've developed through several projects, to assist with a decision to proceed (or not) with a project
Information Economics Scorecard Vaguely reminiscent of Kaplan and Nortons Balanced Scorecard, this is a way of ranking a proposal's intangible factors.
Object Definition Template This is a template I developed when teaching a course "Information Systems Engineering".  It is an attempt to synthesise UML and E-R approaches

Software  -   Release Management System

RMDB (Release Management Database) is a simple Access system to assist with the management of software maintenance that I've used and developed over the course of several assignments. Notes are recorded describing issues (errors, enhancements, queries, etc), work is batched into releases (groups of changes), and notes are tracked through to resolution.  I have found this useful for software maintenance, and for developments with agile methodologies (RAD, Prototyping, Extreme Programming etc). 

Version 2 has been significantly enhanced to support multiple customers, chargeable development, and simple time recording with estimate/actual reporting.

I keep thinking that I should develop this further to provide web access to the forms and reports.  Happy to do this if anybody really wants me do (and will pay something for this).  The Access version, which is suitable for small-scale development managed on a LAN, can be purchased for a nominal sum ($NZ49.00).
